Parent Teacher Org. (PTO)

The Garlough Parent-Teacher Organization strives to support students and teachers through community building, fundraising, volunteering and more. The organization is open to all parents and guardians of Garlough students. A few of the initiatives sponsored by the Garlough PTO include:

  • Teacher Grants for classroom supplies and special projects (e.g. Inline skates for Phy. Ed. classes)
  • Classroom field trips such as the Eagle Bluff Environmental Camp (4th Grade)
  • All-School Presentations like the Abraham Lincoln Assembly
  • Outdoor Learning Committee - projects such as the Edible Math Maze, Amphitheater and Chimney Swift Towers
  • School-wide events such as Family Fun Night, Hoot Hike and Environmental Fair

WAYS TO BECOME INVOLVED
 

  • Volunteer to help in classrooms or at events
  • Attend meetings to share ideas and experiences
  • Provide leadership in PTO projects
  • Assist with PTO fundraising
  • Show support for teachers and staff

PTO MEETINGS AND EVENTS

Meetings are held at GEMS and are open to all Garlough parents and guardians.
  • Summer Playdate - July 23, 4:30 p.m.
  • Summer Playdate (incoming kindergarteners) - August 20, 4:30 p.m.
  • PTO Meeting - September 10, 6 p.m.
  • Hoot Hike - October 4, 4-7:30 p.m.
